Our Seventh Annual Gala, “Hope for Heroes 2018,” Is Scheduled!

Saturday evening, October 27, 2018, at The Woodlands Waterway Marriott Hotel and Convention Center

Seventh Annual Gala, “Hope for Heroes 2018”, Keynote Speaker

Andrew King Needum

Photographer Shealah Craighead

As a Firefighter/Paramedic having the opportunity to serve, comes naturally to him; helping those who helped mold him into the man he is today, is where he feels called to serve.  Andrew is now more locally known for his actions aboard Southwest Airlines Flight 1380, where he and his family were flying home from a vacation in New York City when the jet engine on the left side suffered catastrophic damage sending shrap metal into a window on the aircraft.

Emergency Ministries is grateful for your ongoing support. It is with your generous donations that lives are changed forever. Our chaplains serve EMTs, firefighters, paramedics, law enforcement officers and dispatchers and their families. We work closely with first responders (including sometimes at the scene of the incident) and help them cope with the horrific events they witness such as; child fatalities, teenage suicide or the deadly effects of drunk driving. We understand that it’s difficult for first responders to separate themselves from their feelings and “turn it off” at the end of the shift.

We understand because all of our chaplains have been first responders. In dealing with post-traumatic stress in our everyday heroes, our chaplains continue to assist the first responders and their families in dealing with critical incident stress, on-going stress, PTSD, anxiety, depression and relationship issues.
